Our Team
Meet our dedicated practice owner, Dr. Joshua Foster. Dr. Foster took the reins of our clinic in January 2023 and has been leading our team with passion and commitment. Before coming back to his hometown to practice at his family practice in 2020, Dr. Foster began his career practicing in different hospitals all over the state, where he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Beyond his veterinary expertise, Dr. Foster has a vibrant personal life. He shares his life journey with his wife, Lindsey Foster, and a lively household of six pets, including three dogs – Addie, Bobby, and Maddie, and three cats – Archie, Patches, and Sherman.
Dr. Foster’s educational background is impressive, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State University obtained 2009 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.
Not only does he excel in his veterinary practice, but Dr. Foster also actively serves as the Vice President of the Recreational Development Foundation of Caswell County. His hobbies include golfing, riding UTVs, hunting, and immersing himself in the great outdoors. Growing up on his family farm, he developed a deep appreciation for animals and learned about the care of pets and beef cattle from his grandpa, known to many in the community, J.D. Foster.
Dr. Foster’s passion for veterinary medicine was ignited at a young age. He fondly recalls spending afternoons at the animal hospital, captivated by the diverse range of animals that came through the doors. This early exposure led him to follow in his family’s footsteps and become a veterinarian.
His dedication shines through in his commitment to treating every dog and cat as if they were his own. Dr. Foster places a premium on active listening to address each client’s concerns and keeping up with the latest developments in veterinary medicine to provide the best possible care. Among his specialities, he has a keen interest in surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Mitch Foster is an esteemed member of our veterinary team. Graduating summa cum laude in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1981 and subsequently earning honors from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985, Dr. Mitch Foster has been a valuable asset to our clinic since June of that year.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Mitch is a loving husband to Lynn Mise Foster and a proud parent to two accomplished children: Lindsey Foster Strader, a local family nurse practitioner, and Josh Foster, our clinic’s owner. At home, he cares for three dogs – Molly, Jack, and Franny – and one cat – Bandit, two of which are rescues.
Dr. Mitch actively contributes to his community as the Treasurer and Assistant Chief at the local fire department where he has been an active member for 25 years, and a longstanding member of the Caswell County Animal Protection Society Board. His involvement extends to organizing youth sports in Caswell County, where he has coached baseball, softball, football, and soccer.
Outside of his busy professional life, Dr. Mitch enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering, and cherishing moments with his twin grandsons.
Dr. Andy Foster is a dedicated veterinarian with a deep connection to the community. His journey in veterinary medicine began at North Carolina State University after only 3 years of undergraduate studies and followed by 4 years at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 1982. Following a year of practice in Mocksville, NC, he returned to his hometown to establish his dream practice, Carolina Virginia Animal Hospital, in June 1983.
Apart from veterinary medicine, Dr. Andy actively participates in community organizations. He has served and is currently serving in many positions at Shady Grove UMC. He has been a dedicated board member of the Pelham Fire Department for over two decades. Apart from his roles in church and at the fire department, he is known as “Coach Foster” by many in the area, where he coached youth football, baseball, soccer, and wrestling at BYHS.
Dr. Andy is happily married to Ginny McSherry Foster and is the proud parent of two children: Katherine Foster Parrish, who followed in her mother’s footsteps to become an educator. She is currently homeschooling one of her three daughters. His son Andrew Foster, a Doctor of Physical Therapy who is actively practicing in Caswell County. Outside of working at the hospital and serving his community, Dr Andy enjoys spending time with his six grandchildren, two dogs – Lucy and Abby, and one bird – Tequila.
Autumn is the friendly face that welcomes you to our clinic as our Head Receptionist. With roots in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, she has been an integral part of our hospital for 25 years. Her love for animals started at an early age. She currently is a loving “fur mama” to a pitbull mix named Sully and a yellow tabby cat named Rocket.
Autumn’s journey into veterinary medicine began during her high school years when she applied for a part-time assistant position at a nearby veterinary hospital. She quickly realized that was her true calling and transitioned to a full-time role.
Autumn believes that exceptional pet care goes hand-in-hand with outstanding customer service. She ensures every client feels welcomed and cared for during their visit. Her love for pets and people shines through her commitment to fostering strong client relationships.
Beyond her role at the clinic, Autumn enjoys crafting wreaths and spending quality time with her family. Her warmth and dedication make her an essential part of our team.
Alicia, a native of Chatham, Virginia, is a valuable member of our veterinary team. Raised in a household filled with dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, and even a snake, Alicia developed a profound love for animals at an early age.
Alicia joined Carolina Virginia Animal Hospital in 2016, bringing her passion for animals and a strong work ethic. She is happily married and shares her home with two dogs, two cats, and a plethora of fish. In her free time, she enjoys helping her mom care for chickens, spending quality time with her family and pets, gardening, landscaping, tubing, hiking, ATV riding, and horseback riding.
Her dedication shines through her desire to get to know each animal and provide them with the care they need. Alicia is committed to ensuring pet owners receive the support and guidance necessary to keep their beloved companions healthy and happy.
Nicole’s journey into the world of animals began on a farm, where her adventures and interactions with various animals sparked her fascination with their temperament and behavior.
Her commitment to animal welfare solidified during her five-year tenure at an animal shelter, where she gained extensive experience in basic veterinary medicine and customer service. Nicole’s realization that her true calling lay in working at an animal hospital led her to join our team.
Having worked at three different hospitals with varying work styles, Nicole has developed a wealth of knowledge and diverse skills, enabling her to effectively educate clients and communicate about proper pet care. She is also a proud mother of two boys who share her passion for animals.
Nicole’s dedication to her work and the relationships she builds with pets and their families is a testament to her genuine love for animals and her commitment to their well-being.
Breanna’s deep connection to animals traces back to her upbringing in the countryside, where she began riding horses at the age of three and caring for a wide array of pets.
She values the independence instilled in her by her parents, appreciates the importance of a strong work ethic, and takes pride in providing for her “family,” which includes dogs, goats, cats, and whatever other animals that may find their way into her life.
For Breanna, working in veterinary medicine isn’t just a job; it’s a passion. She is committed to providing the best care for animals, whether at work, at home, or while assisting friends with their pets. Her dedication and love for animals shine through in everything she does. In her free time, she enjoys various outdoor activities, such as horseback riding, UTV riding, and spending quality time with her dogs (“Ella” Jack Russell, “Gypsy” Labrador Retriever, “Maple” Golden Retriever, “Boone” Labrador Retriever).
Madison’s journey into the veterinary industry started 4 years ago when she enrolled in the veterinary assistant class offered by her local highschool. She started spending her afternoons after class and her Saturdays at our office where she became a valuable member of our team. In August of 2022, Madison was accepted into the dental hygienist school at Guilford Tech Community College where she decided to pursue her true passion. Madison continues to be an asset to our team as she helps at the office when she is available during the week and on weekends. Madison is committed to continuous learning and growth, and is always striving to be the best in both her fields.
When Madison has down time between the animal hospital and dental hygienist school, you can find her spending time with her Labrador Retriever “Carson” and Boxer “Bear” or attending a local country concert.
